Koch-Chemie Headlight Polish Set is a complete kit for restoring clouded and yellowed PMMA headlight lenses. It includes two specialized polishing compounds, three matching polishing pads and abrasives in three grit grades for surface preparation.
One of the polishing pads is thermochromic and changes colour as its temperature rises, helping indicate heat build-up during polishing and reducing the risk of overheating the plastic.
The kit is sufficient for approximately 50 headlight sets, and individual components can be purchased separately when replacements are required.
Advantages:
— Headlight Polish 2 provides a sealing effect that helps maintain the restored finish for longer
— Suitable for headlights on cars, commercial vehicles, motorcycles and marine applications
P1000, P2000 and P4000 abrasives provide a progressive sanding process for an even finish
— Individual components are available separately for convenient replacement
— Supplied in a branded case for organized storage of all kit components
— Original Koch-Chemie product
Areas of application:
— Yellowed and clouded headlight lenses affected by prolonged UV exposure
— Fine scratches and scuff marks caused by washing and everyday use
— Restoring headlight clarity before vehicle inspection or sale
— Preparing headlights for the application of a protective coating to help prevent renewed yellowing
Directions for use:
Clean the headlight thoroughly and mask the surrounding paintwork and trim, including the hood, fenders, grille and bumper, to protect them during sanding and polishing.
For heavily yellowed or weathered lenses, sand the surface using a sanding block or dual-action machine, starting with P1000 abrasive and progressing through P2000 to P4000. For lightly clouded headlights, the sanding stage may be unnecessary.
Remove sanding marks with Headlight Polish 1 using a Heavy Cut Pad or sheepskin wool pad on a rotary polishing machine at medium speed and moderate pressure. Work in overlapping cross-hatch passes.
Refine the surface to a high gloss with Headlight Polish 2 and the thermochromic polishing pad. The pad’s colour change helps indicate heat build-up during polishing and assists with temperature control.
Suitable for professional and private use.
